March 2005 Meeting
Galen Lillethorup with his new Farmin Standard Ed Splittgerber with article on;
A government microbiologist using a 1/4 scale RC Cub to sample the air above Tampa, Florida.  They are studying pathogens that are attached to dust particles blown in from African deserts.  Once a week he climbs his radio controlled Cub to an altitude of 1000 feet and collects an air sample.  Scientists say that on a typical spring or summer day in the Tampa Bay area at least half the particles in the air originated in Africa.  They are interested in identifying microbes that could potentially harm living things.
Tom Egbert with his new F-3A Shock Flyer and his new Revolution V-2 3-D Trainer Dean Copeland did a great program on his 'scratch built' Northrop Flying Wing.  This is a very complex plane with a great deal of machine work.  A very difficult project.  Check Building Projects for more details.
